LONDON (AP) _ An explosion ripped through a gay pub this evening in a central London district crowded with diners and drinkers, killing two people and injuring at least 13, authorities said.

``I am afraid there are two dead,'' Alan Fry, head of Scotland Yard's anti-terrorists squad, said near the scene of the blast at the Admiral Duncan bar on Old Compton Street.

Thirteen injured were taken to University College Hospital after the blast. A spokesman for the hospital said that seven of those were serious injured.
