Resource providers hosting info session
A dozen resource providers are expected to attend an information session designed to connect Gage County community leaders with agencies that may be able to provide technical or financial assistance related to community facilities and other development projects.
The information session will be from 4 to 6 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 8, at the Beatrice Public Library. Community leaders are invited to drop in anytime during that two-hour period.
Resource providers expected to attend have expertise in business development and entrepreneurship; housing grant and loan programs; hiking, biking and running trails; community centers; workforce development; wind energy, and economic development.
Over the past month, regional community town hall meetings were held throughout the county to solicit ideas for facility improvements or other community and economic development projects.
Those meetings are facilitated by the Heartland Center for Leadership Development in collaboration with Gage Area Growth Enterprise (NGage) and University of Nebraska Extension. These sessions are part of a project funded by USDA Rural Development.
Gage County is the home of 13 rural communities, more than half of which have been actively involved in this project.
