Officials extradite Utah man for reported sexual assault in Hawaii
Deputies with the Utah County Sheriff’s Office arrested a Utah man last week after he reportedly sexually assaulted a woman in Hawaii.
Authorities said 19-year-old Nickolas Ryan Bischoff is wanted in Hawaii for a $100,000 grand jury bench warrant.
He is charged with one count of sexual assault in the second degree and three counts of sexual assault in the fourth degree, according to the Honolulu Police Department.
Jail records show a deputy with the Utah County Sheriff’s Office arrested Bischoff on Nov. 28.
On Monday, a 4th District Court judge signed a waiver of extradition that surrendered Bischoff to Hawaiian authorities.
In October 2017, a woman reported she had been sexually assaulted at Bischoff’s home in Kahuku, Hawaii. The town is located between Laie and Turtle Bay on Oahu.
The woman “reported to her parents that an acquaintance of hers” had sexually assaulted her, according to a report from Honolulu Crime Stoppers, a nonprofit agency that partners with the police department.
Investigators identified and arrested Bischoff sometime later. Last month, the police department asked the public for help finding Bischoff.
Bischoff was known to frequent Kahuku and had no prior convictions in the state, the report stated.
