Needles High students gain recognition in Tri-state High School Art Show

Robin RichardsMay 18, 2019

BULLHEAD CITY — ‘Marilyn Monroe’ by Hayley Allen won first place; Jesse Zamora’s T-shirt design for BPO Elks Lodge 1608 second; and ‘Logic’ by Christian Zuniga third for Needles High School entries in the Tri-state High School Art Show.

It has apparently been around a dozen years since Needles students had an entry in the 18-year-old show, which was open to the public April 22 through 26 at Mohave Community College. The show is supported and judged by a group of local artists from the River Valley Artists’ Guild and members of the Arts Club at MCC.

Stacey Martinez, Career Technical Education Arts, Media and Entertainment teacher at Needles High, said her students’ work is more impressive when one realizes that this is their first year working in digital media. “I’m so proud we have so many talented students in Needles,” she commented by email.
