Redding police investigate untimely death
REDDING — Police are investigating the death of a 71-year-old man whose body was found in his Great Meadow Road home Friday.
Officers went to the home around 4:40 p.m. for a welfare check at the request of the homeowner’s female cousin.
She told police she drove to Redding from East Marion, N.Y., to check up on her cousin after not hearing from him in over a month.
With her permission, officers forcibly entered the residence and found the man deceased in the dining room.
An autopsy is being conducted at the Medical Examiner’s Office to determine the cause of death.
The man’s “untimely death” is under investigation, police said.
