Havasu’s McDonald commits to play baseball at GateWay CC

Lake Havasu’s Aydin McDonald has committed to play baseball at GateWay Community College in Phoenix for coach Rob Shabansky.

Aydin, a shortstop, has played exclusively club baseball, spending the last few seasons playing on the 18U circuit with Fallon Sports and NA Elite and will be staying close to home for to play for the Geckos of the National Junior College Athletic Association. GateWay went 25-29 last season in Division II, Region 1 against the other Maricopa County jucos.

Havasu had five players commit to play baseball last season, and has seen some success in sending players through the junior college route, most notably withpitcher Bob Milacki, who after attending Yavapai Community College was drafted in the first round of the MLB Draft in 1983.
