Dusting of snow possible in Skagit County

February 28, 2019
Western Washington may see a dusting of snow.

Skagit County may see a dusting of snow between tonight and Friday.

Areas along Interstate 5 are forecast to see 1 inch or less, while areas closer to the North Cascades, such as Concrete, may see closer to 2 inches, according to the National Weather Service’s Seattle Office.

Little to no accumulation is expected, however, as temperatures are forecast to remain in the 40-degree range.

“The best chance of light snow accumulations (2 inches or less) will be over the Cascade foothills and areas from Snohomish County north,” a weather service briefing states.

Any snowfall is expected to be mild compared to that seen in early February, when lower temperatures allowed for the accumulation of several inches.
