Police: Deaths of 2 in Apollo home apparent murder-suicide

February 3, 2019

APOLLO, Pa. (AP) — Authorities have released the names of two men killed in what officials believe was an early morning murder-suicide in western Pennsylvania.

The Armstrong County coroner’s office Sunday said investigators believe 25-year-old David Gaydos was shot by 33-year-old David Lee in the borough of Apollo.

State police say the gunfire at about 5:45 a.m. Saturday in an Apollo home stemmed from “a domestic-related incident.” They said they believe that after shooting Gaydos, Lee turned the gun on himself.

Police said both men were dead when troopers arrived. The coroner’s office said both died of gunshot wounds. Toxicology tests are pending. No injuries were reported to a woman and child who were in the home at the time.
