Police presence heightened at Stillmeadow for social media post
STAMFORD — There was a higher police presence than usual at Stillmeadow Elementary School’s open house after concerns were raised over a social media post.
According to Sharon Beadle, spokesperson for Stamford Public Schools, police investigated a social media post that was deemed not a credible threat. Just in case, there will still be more police at the school for the Community Open House where prospective parents, realtors and community members get to tour the schools.
“We had a heightened police presence at Stillmeadow out of an abundance of caution,” Beadle said.
An email sent to Stillmeadow parents from principal Angela Asaro explained the situation and that every visitor to the open house will be required to show picture identification and accompanied when touring the school.
