Shooting into home seriously injures 2
Police have no suspects in an early-morning shooting that left two people seriously injured Friday.
Quamel O. Stinson, 29, and Latoyia N. Billingsley, 31, were shot about 1:30 a.m. as they slept inside a home in the 4500 block of Gaywood Drive.
“An unknown number of persons began shooting into the home from the rear alley,” Chris Felton, a Fort Wayne Police Department spokesman, said in a news release. “Both victims were struck and called police.”
Stinson was last reported in serious condition, and Billingsley was in critical condition, investigators said.
Officers found “several shell casings” behind the home, Felton said, but there is no suspect information.
“As officers were arriving in the area, an officer located an occupied vehicle and upon going to speak with the occupants, (they) fled from the officer,” the news release said. “It is currently being investigated if that vehicle and the occupants are related to this shooting or if it was pure coincidence.”
Detectives also went door to door to talk to neighbors to try to gather information about the shooting.
