ELECTION 2018-BALLOT COUNTING-WEST COAST

OLYMPIA, Wash. - If control of the U.S. House comes down to competitive congressional races in Washington and California, America might have to wait days to learn the outcome. Three states conduct all elections by mail, but Washington is the only one of those that allows ballots to be postmarked on Election Day, meaning they often don’t reach election officials for days. Californians have the option of voting by mail. Those ballots also only have to be post marked by Election Day. By Rachel La Corte. SENT: 930 words. AP Photos.
