Lipscomb 95, McKendree 87
TULSA, Okla. (AP) _ Kenyatta Perry scored 25 points and pulled down 11 rebounds to lead Lipscomb (Tenn.) to a 95-87 win over McKendree (Ill.) today in the second round of the NAIA men’s basketball tournament.
The fourth-seeded Bisons (32-5) advance to play the winner of today’s BYU Hawaii-East Central Oklahoma winner in the quarterfinals on Friday.
John Holt and Rodrigo Pastore added 20 points each for Lipscomb. Free-throw shooting helped Lipscomb preserve the victory. Perry made 12 of 15 shots from the line, while Pastore converted 10 of 11 free-throw opportunities.
McEndree (25-9) led 50-46 at halftime and built a 7-point lead early in the second half before Lipscomb rallied. Bryan Farmer’s basket snapped a 62-62 tie with 13:15 left and started the Bisons on a decisive 16-3 run.
Jon Kraus scored 17 and reserve Fernando Stevenson added 16 points to lead the Bearcats.
