LOS ANGELES (AP) _ A suicidal gunman who stormed CBS Television City and held off police for four hours has been charged with attempted murder and assault with a firearm.
Raymond Derouen Jr., 31, was charged Thursday. He remains hospitalized while recovering from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Authorities said Derouen shot himself in the abdomen with a handgun Tuesday night, ending a standoff with police inside the network’s studios. No one else was hurt.
Police are still trying to determine why Derouen entered the CBS complex.
The break-in temporarily halted the taping of the daytime soap operas ``The Young and the Restless″ and ``The Bold and the Beautiful″ when the studio was evacuated.
