MCCOOK -- The Beatrice softball team had little trouble disposing of their competition Monday during a triangular in McCook.
The Lady defeated host team McCook 13-0 in the first game and came back with an 8-0 win in the second game.
Beatrice pitching didn’t give up a single hit in either game.
The Lady O out-hit McCook 20-0 and scored four runs in the first inning, one run in the second inning and four runs in each of the third and fourth innings to make it 13-0. The game didn’t go past the fourth inning.
Ashton Sandman led the Beatrice offense with three hits including a home run. She had six RBI’s in the game and two runs scored.
Jaci Berke had three hits while Addie Barnard had a triple, a single, two runs scored and an RBI. Olivia Aden had a double and a single, two runs scored and an RBI.
Lexi Schwartz had a double and Tavia Hausman had a solo home run. Adding a single each was Whitney Schwisow, Emma Breland, Reagan Delabar, Hannah Lytle, Rylee Pangborn, Cheyenne Jurgena and Carley Leners.
Bailey Green pitched the first three innings and gave up no runs on no hits while striking out five and walking one. Rylee Pangborn pitched a perfect fourth inning, striking out one.
Beatrice continued its offensive onslaught in the second game, beating North Platte 8-0 and out-hitting them 14-0.
The Lady O offense scored one run in the second inning, six runs in the third inning and one run in the fourth inning. The game was called after the fifth inning.
Sandman and Schwisow had a double and a single each while Lytle, Leners and Berke had two singles each. Hausman had a double while Barnard added a single.
Bailey Green pitched the first four innings for Beatrice, giving up no runs on no hits while striking out none and walking three. Barnard pitched a perfect fifth inning, striking out three and walking one.
Beatrice is now 5-1 on the season and will be in action again on Thursday when they travel to Bennington for a triangular with Bennington and Raymond Central.
