Shafer Advances to Wichita Open
WICHITA, Kan. (AP) _ Ryan Shafer was 5-3 in the final round of match play Friday night to advance to the title game of the PBA’s Wichita Open.
Shafer, who won The Orleans Casino Open in January for his first career title, had a 42-game pinfall total of 10,220. He was 15-9 in match play.
Bob Learn Jr. took the second spot in the eight-man championship round with a 10,050 total.
Jess Stayrook was third at 10,047, followed by Walter Ray Williams Jr. at 9,954, Mike Miller at 9,948, Parker Bohn III at 9,946, Tim Criss at 9,906 and Finland’s Mika Koivuniemi at 9,856.
The winner will receive $15,000.
