CONCORD, N.H. (AP) — State environmental officials say air pollution levels in some New Hampshire counties are expected to reach unhealthy levels for sensitive individuals over the next few days.

The Department of Environmental Services says unhealthy air pollution levels are expected in Rockingham County on Monday through Wednesday.

The same is expected for Hillsborough County on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Children and older adults, anyone with lung disease such as asthma, emphysema, and bronchitis, and people who are active outdoors should take precautions.

The state says poor air quality conditions result when high temperatures under sunny skies and winds transport pollution into New Hampshire from surrounding areas, in combination with local emissions.
