Meet Scholastic Superstar Jacob Adams
Through mock trail, Honesdale High School senior Jacob Adams realized his dream to become a lawyer.
Jacob, who enjoys reading The New York Times and the National Review and listening to podcasts, said through the team he also got to know “a group of students I would have not normally crossed paths with.”
“Despite the seriousness of the subject, the most humorous moments of my high school career were during mock trial practices,” he said.
The son of Steven and the late Clare Adams and stepson of Amy Adams, Jacob most admires his mother, whose academic drive, immunity to shellfish and easily sunburned skin he inherited.
“She was the role model for my pursuit of academic excellence,” he said. “My mother was a virtuous woman. I hope that at the end of my life, God will say to me that I followed in her footsteps and was a righteous man.”
Jacob, who can recite the monarchs of England and later the entire British Isles from 1066 to the present day, is most proud of becoming a black belt and being in the top of his class.
After graduation, Jacob plans to attend the Georgetown University Walsh School of Foreign Service and plans to attend law school.
In 15 years, he hopes to be not just a successful lawyer with a family, but also debt free. He also hopes his future takes him unexpected places.
