Kashima beats Kobe 2-1 to take J-League lead
TOKYO (AP) — Shoma Doi and Yasushi Endo scored as Kashima Antlers beat Vissel Kobe 2-1 on Saturday to take top spot in the J-League.
Kunie Kitamoto’s header put Kobe in front but Doi equalized late in the first half and Endo hit the winner five minutes into the second half.
Kashima improved to 36 points, two ahead of Kawasaki Frontale which was held 2-2 at last-place Avispa Fukuoka.
Hisato Sato sealed the win seven minutes from time as defending champions Sanfrecce Hiroshima beat Urawa Reds 4-2.
Also, Vegalta Sendai beat Ventforet Kofu 2-1, Sagan Tosu edged Gamba Osaka by the same score and Shonan Bellmare beat Jubilo Iwata 1-0.
