LA VERGNE, Tenn. (AP) — Authorities in Tennessee have arrested a man accused of shooting at officers whom he led on a chase spanning two counties.

News outlets report police took 21-year-old Darrien Williams into custody Monday afternoon.

La Vergne Police Chief Mike Walker says police in Smyrna asked them to help find a suspect driving a vehicle after a domestic call. Walker says Williams led his officers on a chase into Nashville then fired at La Vergne officers after they stopped his car. The officers returned fire. No one was hit. Police say Williams ran away.

Nashville Metro police helped other officers capture Williams. Police say he could be charged in both Rutherford and Davidson counties. It is unclear whether Williams has an attorney who could comment on his behalf.
