Westmoreland high school notebook: GCC’s Schwerha might be on the move
JoJo Schwerha, the soccer player from Greensburg Central Catholic who has been trying out for the D.C. United MLS academy, could be transferring.
Schwerha, who is from Charleroi, said he might be heading to Belle Vernon, to where he might be moving.
He said he will continue to train with D.C.
Recent Penn-Trafford graduate Nick Tarabrella might be remembered more for what he did in football. He will be a kicker at Ashland. But he was one of the top volleyball players in the state.
Tarabrella, a 6-foot-4 setter, made the Pennsylvania Volleyball Coaches Association all-state team.
Other WPIAL players selected include Nash Bryan of Butler, Max Cooley of Bethel Park, Dan DeGraaf (Seneca Valley), Mike Krueger (Canon-McMillan), Kyle Martini (Seneca Valley), Dylan Schanck (Bethel Park), AJ Schmidt (North Allegheny), Jason Stiefavater (North Allegeny), and Canyon Tuman (North Allegheny).
