Travel tip: Ohio Art Corridor plans expansive outdoor gallery

November 18, 2018

Sculptor David Griesmyer has plans to highlight art and culture in small Ohio communities with the creation of the Ohio Art Corridor, planned as the world’s largest outdoor gallery.

The project will launch officially on Oct. 30, when the first installation will be put in the ground in McConnelsville, the seat of Morgan County.

More than 10 additional installations, consisting of large-scale metal sculptures, are planned in Lancaster, Circleville, Zanesville and Athens on a corridor spanning about 230 miles in southern Ohio. Each sculpture is designed to reflect the individual culture of the host town.

Griesmyer’s vision includes expanding the corridor across the Midwest.
