UNDERSHERIFF-WOMAN DIES _ Authorities say a sheriff’s deputy in Colorado came within “a half of an inch” of a possibly fatal injury after being shot while trying to prevent a suicidal woman from killing herself.


MISSING WOMAN-COLORADO _ Teller County Sheriff deputies lead Patrick Frazee into the Teller County Courthouse on Friday in Cripple Creek, Colo. Frazee, is charged with murdering 29-year-old Kelsey Berreth. His arraignment hearing was delayed until May 24 because of ongoing evidence testing.

NATIONAL ACTION NETWORK CONVENTION _ Former Colorado Gov. John Hickenlooper, a candidate for the 2020 Democratic presidential nomination, addresses the National Action Network Convention in New York on Friday.





DENVER _ After a 3-4 start on the road, the Colorado Rockies play their first game at Coors Field on Friday against the Los Angeles Dodgers. The Rockies will throw Tyler Anderson and the Dodgers Kenta Maeda. By Pat Graham. UPCOMING: 600 words, photos from 2:10 p.m. game.
