WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. (AP) _ Toby Evans hit two home runs and went 4-for-5 as Dunedin, Fla., beat Dhahran, Saudi Arabia, 23-7 in a consolation game Friday at the Little League World Series.
Ronald DeSantis and Chris Hart also had homers for the South region champion, which had lost in the quarterfinals to San Ramon Valley, Calif. San Ramon Valley will represent the United States Saturday in the world championship game against Taiwan.
DeSantis also pitched the first five innings before Evans relieved him in the sixth.
Dunedin got eight runs in the first inning, led 12-5 after three and added five more runs in the fourth and six in the fifth.
Giselle Hardy, the only girl in this year’s tournament, scored Dhahran’s first run on a bases-loaded walk.
The only player who didn’t play was Dhahran’s Marcus Jones, who was caught off first to complete a game-ending triple play when Dhahran lost to Canada 5-3 in the quarterfinals.
