LAS VEGAS (AP) _ Robert Goulet, who will return to the Las Vegas Strip for a nine-week run starting July 2, says performers like himself can't compete with today's rock groups.

``We're a dying breed. The kids coming up don't do the sort of stuff we do,'' the 67-year-old entertainer told The Associated Press. ``The kids have to have a rockers who need an arena. They don't need a room.''

``Robert Goulet: The Man and His Music'' will also feature Paige O'Hara and the Vincent Falcone Orchestra. The show will be staged at the Venetian hotel-casino's showroom.

``This town has changed so considerably,'' Goulet said. ``The star setup is gone. Now we have lots of magicians and impersonators.''
