COSE names Megan Kim as new executive director

CLEVELAND – The Greater Cleveland Partnership announced Monday that Megan Kim has been named executive director of its small business program, the Council of Smaller Enterprises (COSE).

Steve Millard, longtime executive director of COSE and executive VP of the GCP, left in June to become president and CEO at the Akron Chamber of Commerce. COSE is the region’s largest small-business support organization.

“I have great admiration for the passion, dedication and energy of small-business owners,” Kim said in a statement. “I am grateful for the opportunity to ensure that through COSE we are connecting them to the right resources and support to help their businesses grow resulting in more successful companies, new jobs and a stronger Northeast Ohio economy.”

Kim has been with the organization since 2005, most recently as senior vice president of membership development and marketing. She will keep that role and continue reporting to president and CEO Joe Roman.

“We are thrilled that Megan Kim has accepted the position of executive director,” John Young, president of Speed Exterminating and chairman of the COSE Board of Advisors, said in a statement. “She has been an integral part of COSE for the last 13 years and will continue to advance the interests of the small-business community in her new role.”

Scott Chaikin, executive chairman of Dix & Eaton and chair of GCP’s board of directors said COSE’s membership is comprised of thousands of small businesses and advocating on their behalf continues to be a priority.

“Through her years of experience with COSE, Megan Kim understands the needs of the small business community and how that ties into the overall strategy for GCP. We are confident that she will have a seamless transition into this role and continue the work that supports our mission of improving the economic prosperity in the region for businesses of all sizes,” Chaikin said in a statement.
