Federal Workers Offered Loan Help

SCRANTON - An area credit union is offering financial help to federal workers affected by the partial government shutdown, now going on for more than a month.

Penn East Federal Credit Union is offering loans to cover expenses until the government reopens and also the option to skip loan payments, the credit union announced on Wednesday.

Penn East serves people who live in Lackawanna, Luzerne and Wyoming counties. Federal workers must be credit union members and eligible to take part in the programs.
