Owner of dogs that attacked child wants their lives spared
MANDAN, N.D. (AP) — The owner of two pit bulls that attacked an adult and a child in Mandan is asking that her dogs not be euthanized.
The Bismarck Tribune reports 49-year-old Antoinette Fleck made the request during an appearance in municipal court on charges of violating the city’s vicious dog ordinance. The prosecutor wants the dogs put down.
Fleck says a friend outside of city limits has offered to take in the dogs. They’re currently in quarantine at Mandan’s animal impound.
The dog attack late last month left a 7-year-old girl with a broken leg and hundreds of stitches.
The case has been moved to district court.
