Prep soccer: Warriors blank HD on Senior Night; Eagles win
LAKE MILLS — Josh Lindert had a hat trick and an assist and Chris Schwantes added two goals and an assist in Lakeside Lutheran’s 6-0 win over Hustisford/Dodgeland in a Capitol Conference boys soccer match on Thursday.
Lindert and Schwantes each scored a goal in the first eight minutes of the match, and both of them struck again late in the half to make it 4-0 at intermission. Lindert notched his hat trick in the 54th minute. Pierre Schulz capped the scoring for the Warriors at the 74-minute mark. Hayden Hendricks, Nathan Krenke and Kyle Main each had an assist in the victory.
“It was our last home game and Senior Night and it was a good team win with plenty of underclassmen seeing the field,” Lakeside Lutheran boys soccer coach Clark Schultz said. “Thank you to our seniors and parents.”
William Bushie made 15 saves for Lakeside. Brady Held finished with 18 saves for HD United.
“With this very young team, they held their own against a very experienced team tonight,” HD United boys soccer coach Scott Blome said.
“We just couldn’t keep up with them. And they really put our goal keeper to the test tonight and he showed them what will be coming in the future from this young keeper.”
On Tuesday, Lakeside Lutheran (7-6, 5-3 in conference) travels to Belleville to face unbeaten league leader Sugar River.
HD United (3-13, 1-7) hosts Stockbridge in a nonconference match on Saturday morning at 10 a.m.

JEFFERSON — Sophomore forward Aaron Heine scored two goals, junior midfielder Reese Fetherston added a goal and two assists for Jefferson’s boys soccer team in a 6-2 nonconference win over Milwaukee Audubon on Thursday.
Junior midfielder Elijah Tackman, senior midfielder Misael Cortes and sophomore defender/midfielder Brock Pinnow each added a goal for the Eagles (7-3-2 overall), who put 14 shots on goal in the victory.
“Tonight’s nonconference game against Milwaukee Audubon started very fast, from the kick off on a long ball from the center that Audubon scored on (14 seconds into the match),” Jefferson boys soccer coach Samuel El-Beri said.
“But we answered back very quick with Aaron Heine on a through ball at 26 seconds. We switched the ball and counterattacked them a lot throughout the game.
“Milwaukee school was very physical and fast on top. They tested our defense throughout the game. We stood tall and we played as a unit. I was very proud of the boys tonight with the way they played.”
Jefferson hits the road for a triangular against River Valley and Richland Center on Saturday at 11:15 a.m.
