Elko County man charged with attempted murder
ELKO, Nev. (AP) — No one ended up getting hurt, but an Elko County man who told sheriff’s deputies he shot his brother has been charged with attempted murder.
Elko County Sheriff Jim Pitts said Friday 43-year-old Ryan Reynolds was charged with attempted murder and discharging a firearm into a residence. His bail was set at $120,000.
The Elko Daily Free Press reports Reynolds called deputies at about 6:40 p.m. to report he shot his brother.
Deputies arrived to find that Reynolds fired approximately five rounds from a 9mm handgun into a trailer occupied by his brother.
He told investigators the shooting stemmed from an argument between Reynolds’ wife and his brother in which she allegedly was threatened with a knife. No one was injured.
It’s not clear if Reynolds has a lawyer or will be appointed one at a pending court appearance.
