Patrol car struck on Defiance road; 2 hurt
An Ohio State Highway Patrol trooper was injured in a crash Tuesday in Defiance County, the highway patrol said.
Trooper Dennis Spangler, 42, of the Defiance post, was driving south on Farmer Mark Road when his car was hit in the left front by a driver who failed to yield to oncoming traffic, the highway patrol said.
The trooper and the driver of the other car, Maxine Cook, 85, of Hicksville, were taken to Community Memorial Hospital in Hicksville and treated for minor injuries.
Both were wearing seat belts at the time of the crash, police said.
The crash remains under investigation.
