FBI gives few details of body found in Tesuque Pueblo
A body discovered at a home on Tesuque Pueblo land last week was a 27-year-old woman, Frank Fisher, a spokesman for the FBI in Albuquerque, said in an email Friday. He declined to release her identity.
The federal agency is investigating the death, discovered last week, but has released few details.
Santa Fe County sheriff’s deputies first responded to a report of the body around 4 p.m. July 5, spokesman Juan Ríos said. The sheriff’s office turned the investigation over to the Bureau of Indian Affairs and the FBI because the county agency doesn’t have jurisdiction on tribal land.
But neither federal agency has provided much information about the death, including the cause or whether it is believed to be a homicide. It also is unclear who reported the death.
Earlier this week, Fisher said an “autopsy with toxicology usually takes about 90 days.”
