Eagle Materials: Fiscal 1Q Earnings Snapshot
DALLAS (AP) _ Eagle Materials Inc. (EXP) on Monday reported fiscal first-quarter earnings of $66.3 million.
The Dallas-based company said it had net income of $1.38 per share. Earnings, adjusted for non-recurring costs, came to $1.54 per share.
The results did not meet Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of five analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of $1.59 per share.
The maker of gypsum wallboard and cement posted revenue of $393.8 million in the period, which also missed Street forecasts. Four analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $403.9 million.
Eagle Materials shares have dropped slightly more than 4 percent since the beginning of the year. The stock has increased 19 percent in the last 12 months.
