One man killed, second hurt in shooting in Cleveland’s Union-Miles neighborhood

CLEVELAND, Ohio -- A 25-year-old man was killed and another man was hurt in a shooting early Friday in Cleveland’s Union-Miles neighborhood, police said.

The shooting happened about 2:20 a.m. on East 131st Street near Harvard Avenue.

The 25-year-old man was shot in the chest. He was taken to University Hospitals, where he died, police said.

The Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner’s Office has not yet released the man’s name.

The second man was shot in the hand. He was taken to MetroHealth for treatment.

Police have not not offered any more information about the shooting.

Three men have been shot and killed in the city in the last 24 hours. On Thursday, a 52-year-old man and a 47-year-old man were fatally shot in the Lee-Harvard neighborhood.

Cleveland now has 103 homicides for the year. There were 91 on the same date last year.
