Dow Jones Risk & Compliance completes ISAE 3000 audit for 2018

December 20, 2018

LONDON, Dec. 20, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Dow Jones Risk & Compliance today announced that its Sanctions Platform and Data Set controls have been audited against the International Standard on Assurance Engagements (ISAE) 3000 by PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) for the fourth year running.

Developed by the International Auditing and Assurance Standards Board, ISAE 3000 is one of the most widely recognized standards used by accounting firms to independently assess a company’s report regarding its control environment.

PwC assessed the controls over the monitoring, processing and updating of sanctions information, as well as company-level, technology and quality check controls. This year’s audit included several updated and new controls related to Dow Jones Risk & Compliance enhancements to document and data management systems.

The report describes whether Dow Jones’s controls have been designed and implemented effectively for key aspects of its sanctions platform and data set.

“The global regulatory environment continues to evolve at a rapid pace and the penalties for non-compliance for companies and organizations are becoming more strict,” said Guy Harrison, Managing Director of Dow Jones Risk & Compliance.

“Dow Jones Risk & Compliance solutions are powered by information, insight and innovation. Our customers know that when they partner with us, they can be assured that the very highest standards, processes and technologies are being used to deliver our regulatory compliance expertise. Successfully passing this audit underscores the quality of our offering and the ability of our global research teams.”

In addition to the lists published by major sanctions bodies, Dow Jones provides enhanced sanctions data, including third party content such as identifier codes of sanctioned banks and maritime-related information.

It recently expanded its Sanctions Ownership Research content set, which covers companies owned or controlled by people or entities sanctioned by the U.S. Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) or the European Union. This content set has grown steadily and now includes more than 19,000 entities.
