STEM, literacy program offered for leap week

HUNTINGTON — WVU Extension Service and Cabell County Libraries will offer the Leap Into Science program for youth ages 3-10 and their families throughout Cabell County from Feb. 20 to March 2. Leap Into Science is a nationwide program developed by The Franklin Institute Science Museum that integrates openended science activities with children’s books designed for children ages 3-10 and their families. The program will offer fun, hands-on activities and story-time centered on the theme of balance. Adult supervision is required for all youth participants.

Family Workshop (youth ages 3-10 and families) will be offered at the following times and locations:

• Tuesday Feb. 26 at 4 p.m. at Guyandotte Public Library

• Thursday, Feb. 28 at 4 p.m. at Cox Landing Library

• Saturday, March 2 from 10 a.m. until noon at The Wild Ramp

Pre-K (youth ages 3-5 and families)

• Wednesday, Feb. 20 at 10:30 a.m. at Barboursville Public Library

• Tuesday, Feb. 26 at 9 a.m. at Salt Rock Public Library

• Tuesday, Feb. 26 at 12:30 p.m. at West Huntington Public Library

• Wednesday, Feb. 27 at 10:30 a.m. at Cabell County Main Library

• Thursday, Feb. 28 at 10 a.m. at Gallaher Village Public Library

• Friday, March 1 at 10 a.m. at Milton Public Library
