Luzerne County Historical Society Announces Holiday Sale At Its Gift Shops
Looking for the perfect holiday gift for the local history buff on your list? The Luzerne County Historical Society probably has what you’re looking for. The LCHS is holding a holiday sale at the Bishop Library and LCHS Museum gift shops starting Wednesday, Nov. 28. All regularly-priced merchandise will be 50 percent off through Saturday, Dec. 22. Both shops have a variety of books, DVDs and CDs related to local history topics. There are note cards with historic photos of the area, a limited selection of LCHS T-shirts, LCHS tote bags and more. The LCHS Museum Shop is located inside the museum at 69 Rear S. Franklin St., Wilkes-Barre, and is open during regular museum hours, 2 to 6 p.m. Wednesday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday. The Bishop Library Shop is located inside the library at 49 S. Franklin St. and is open during regular library hours, noon to 5 p.m. Wednesday and Friday; noon to 6 p.m. Thursday, and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday. The library and the museum will be closed Dec. 1. All gift shop proceeds support LCHS programs, exhibitions and collections care. Admission to the museum and the library is not required to shop the gift shops. Sale prices apply only to in-person, on-site purchases. The sale prices will not be combined with the LCHS member discount (normally 10 percent) or any other discounts.
