Seven Displaced by Fire in Lowell
LOWELL -- Seven people were displaced after a one-alarm fire broke out inside a two-family home on Boynton Street shortly after 3 p.m. Tuesday.
No injuries were reported due to the blaze that firefighters extinguished in roughly 20 minutes, according to Lowell Fire Chief Jeffrey Winward.
The fire started inside the kitchen at 67-69 Boynton St., and spread to a porch and to the roof, the chief said.
“Seven people were displaced and the Red Cross is assisting them,” Winward said.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
