Principal accused of taping girl in bathroom to change plea
SOUTH ROYALTON, Vt. (AP) — A former Vermont principal who earlier pleaded not guilty to charges of videotaping underage girls plans to change his plea.
Dean Stearns, formerly principal of the South Royalton School, has a change of plea hearing scheduled for Dec. 11, though it isn’t clear what he will plea toward. The Valley News reports Stearns is charged with six felony counts of promoting sexual recordings and 30 misdemeanor counts of voyeurism.
Stearns was arrested last year after a 16-year-old girl who was staying at his home called police to say she believed she was being videotaped at the home. The prosecution later increased charges after investigators said they recovered evidence of a total of five victims recorded by Stearns in his home.
