NELIGH — Memorial service for David Pollock, 99, formerly of Neligh, will be held at a later date under the direction of Beyer Snider Memorial Funeral Home of Neligh.
He died Monday, Nov. 12, 2018, at Heritage of Bel Air in Norfolk.
David Rodney Pollock was born on Jan. 6, 1919, at Page, to David and Chloe (Snell) Pollock. He grew up in Ewing, graduated from high school and attended Grand Island Business College.
On April 19, 1941, he was united in marriage to Katherine Phillips at Columbus. They celebrated 46 years of marriage.
He was enlisted in the U.S. Army Air Corps from December 1942 to June 1944. After the war, he worked for the Army Corps of Engineers in Omaha and then for the Internal Revenue Service in Omaha and San Francisco. He retired in 1976 and moved to Neligh that year. He enjoyed playing golf with many of his golfing buddies at Antelope Country Club for 40 years.
Survivors include his son, Phillip Pollock of San Francisco, Calif.; two grandchildren, Spencer and Chloe; a sister, Alice and Art Busshardt; and a brother, Ken and Shirley Pollock, all of Neligh.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his spouse, Katherine in 1987; a sister, Alta Raasch; and a brother, Ralph Pollock.
