Final chemical testing clinic scheduled or this week
BENNINGTON, Vt. (AP) — Vermont health officials say the last blood test clinic for people who may have been affected by the chemical contamination of their drinking water will be held on Friday.
The Bennington Banner reports the clinic will be held at the Bennington Local Health Office in Bennington from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Over 100 people were tested at two clinics in November.
In 2016, private drinking water wells in the area around a former industrial facility detected the presence of the chemical, in some cases well above the state’s health advisory for the chemical.
A blood test can measure the level of PFOA in an individual’s blood, but it cannot tell if a person’s exposure to PFOA will cause health problems.
