Two girls missing from Pondersoa Elementary School after group of kids leave campus
Spokane County sheriff’s deputies are searching for two girls who went missing from Pondersoa Elementary School on Friday afternoon.
The girls were part of a group of five students that walked away from afternoon recess at about 1 p.m., said Marla Nunberg, spokesperson Central Valley School District. Three students were quickly located, however, two girls still remain missing.
Nunberg said sheriff’s deputies are searching the area, including by air with a helicopter. The school, at 10105 E. Cimmaron Drive, is surrounded by homes and the Dishman Hills Conservation Area to the east.
“We’re just concerned for the two students that are missing,” said Nunberg.
The kids’ parents have been notified, Nunberg said. Authorities do not believe the children were abducted.
