City names replacement to head code compliance
The city’s Community Development Division has hired Susan B. Eisenhauer as the new neighborhood code compliance director.
Eisenhauer replaces Cindy Joyner, whom the city announced in May would become director of the Community Development Division, succeeding Greg Leatherman, who retired in April.
Eisenhauer joins the city after a career in both legal work and the social service field, according to a Wednesday news release. She earned her law degree from the University of Wisconsin Law School and Masters of Social Work from the University of Cincinnati.
Eisenhauer lived in Fort Wayne in the mid-1990s through 2002, during which time she worked for the Indiana Supreme Court. Since returning, she has worked as an organizational consultant, hearing officer for the Indiana Supreme Court and executive director for Matthew 25 Health and Dental Clinic.
Neighborhood Code Compliance ensures minimum housing and commercial standards are met to enhance the health and safety of neighborhoods while improving property values and the quality of life for all residents.
“Susan will be a great asset to our team,” said Joyner, who has been in local government 16 years.
Eisenhauer is “passionate about helping build strong neighborhoods that provide an excellent quality of life for residents,” Joyner said in the release.
Outside of work, Eisenhauer volunteers for several community organizations and serves on the board of directors for The League for the Blind & Disabled.
