Swimming: Kingwood boys finish third at state meet

The Kingwood boys capped off their season with a third place finish at the UIL state swimming and diving championships over the weekend at the Lee and Joe Jamail Texas Swim Center in Austin.

The Mustangs finished with a total of 188 points to take home the bronze medal for 6A. Southlake Carroll finished in first place with a total of 246.5 points and the Woodlands finished in second place with a score of 216 points.

The girls finished in fifth place with a score of 154 points. Southlake Carroll took home the gold for the girls with a score of 298 points, followed by The Woodlands with 221 points. Flower Mound took home the bronze medal with a score of 198 points.

Kingwood’s Jacob Bass took home the bronze medal in the 200-yard individual medley with a time of 1:49.37. Bass also won the bronze medal in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 56.09.

Kingwood’s Victor Tremblay finished in second place in the 200 yard freestyle with a time of 1:38.01. Tremblay also finished in fifth place in the 100 yard freestyle with a time of 45.75.

Tremblay, Jordan Anderson, Luke Langley and Caleb Doehring finished in fourth place in the 200 yard freestyle relay with a time of 1:24.77.

Anderson finished in fourth place in the 100 yard backstroke with a time of 49.60.

Tremblay, Connor Little, Bass and Doehring finished in sixth place in the 400-yard freestyle relay with a time of 3:07.84.

For the Kingwood girls, Serena Gould finished in seventh place with a time of 23.51 in the 50-yard freestyle. Also Gould finished in sixth place with a time of 50.81 in the 100-yard freestyle.

Madi Lloyd finished in eighth place in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 59.63.

Sophie Ebert, Madi Llyod, Riley Goebel and Gould finished in sixth place in the 400-yard freestyle relay with a time of 3:31.81.

Gould, Lloyd, Alexis Newman and Ebert finish in fourth place in the 200-yard freestyle relay with a time of 1:35.77.

Atascocita’s Madison Grafmiller finished in sixth place with a time of 5:02.73 in the 500-yard freestyle.
