Longmont Police Release Photo of Tire Slashing Suspect

A surveillance photo of the suspect who Longmont police believe cut or punctured at least 45 tires on at least 34 vehicles.

Longmont police have released a photo of a suspect they believe slashed more than three-dozen tires over the weekend.

Police have received further reports of the vandalism , bringing the total up to at least 34 vehicles damaged and at least 45 tires slashed, according to Cmdr. Joel Post.

Police have been gathering surveillance video footage from Saturday night, and the photo released today is a still taken from the video.

Post described the suspect has having a shaved head or short hair, two plastic bags over his handlebars and a large backpack.

The majority of the damage occurred overnight from Saturday to Sunday, mostly in the downtown area of Longmont. The most affected areas were between Fourth and Sixth avenues, and Emery and Terry streets. Some vehicles further north near 10th Avenue and Main Street were also damaged.
