Police Log: Neighbor is taking dead animals and placing them close to the property line

Wednesday

Douglas County sheriff

12:28 a.m. — A suspicious man is staring at a house, hardly moving and the caller isn’t sure if he’s casing the place at the intersection of Cameron Avenue and Rowan Street, Roseburg.

7:34 a.m. — Unattended death reported in Roseburg.

9:42 a.m. — A man is pretending to sleep on the caller’s property and left after she confronted him, but she’s worried he and a man pretending to work on his truck are casing the area in the 100 block of Curtis Creek Road, Yoncalla.

11:28 a.m. — Caller’s brother threatened to kill him and the caller believes he would have if he had been able to open the gun locker. His brother said he won’t go to jail for anyone in the 300 block of Merritt Street, Glendale.

11:55 a.m. — An unruly camper is running stop signs and parking at sites she’s not registered for in the 300 block of Resort Drive, Diamond Lake.

1:19 p.m. — Sex crimes reported in Myrtle Creek.

7:10 p.m. — Caller thinks his dog was neglected or abused after he went to pick the dog up from vacation and the dog had died in the 2900 block of Highway 42, Winston.

7:22 p.m. — Caller caught her daughter with piles of prescription medication and thinks she’s trying to sell the pills in the 300 block of Chandler Drive, Roseburg.

8:29 p.m. — Neighbor is taking dead animals and placing them close to the property line in the 900 block of Oak Hill Road, Roseburg.

10:12 p.m. — Sex crimes reported in Canyonville.

ACCIDENTS

6:48 a.m. — An older Dodge pickup rolled several times and the driver appears to be in shock walking around without shoes on in the 8300 block of Old Highway 99 South, Dillard.

FIRES

8:31 p.m. — Possible arson at the intersection of Eagle Valley Road and Applegate Avenue, Yoncalla.

ARRESTS

Wednesday

Douglas County sheriff

Steven Michael Dibble, 40, no address provided, on suspicion of first-degree forgery, negotiating a bad check and second-degree criminal forged instrument possession.

Rodolfo Demetrio Loera, 29, of Roseburg, on suspicion of a parole violation, methamphetamine possession and controlled substance possession.

Oregon State Police

James Carl Geisler, 34, of Roseburg, on suspicion of two counts of second-degree failure to appear, contempt of court and a probation violation.

Roseburg police

Rodney Tavis Armstrong, 40, of Glide, on suspicion of second-degree disorderly conduct, harassment and failing to appear on a criminal citation.

Jerry Martin Smith, 45, of Roseburg, on suspicion of harassment, second-degree criminal mischief and first-degree criminal trespass.
