Horse dies in Angola pole-barn fire
A horse is dead after a barn fire in rural Angola Sunday morning, firefighters said.
The Metz Volunteer Fire Department arrived at 8660 East County Road 15 North just before 11 a.m. and found a pole barn engulfed in flames, the department said in a statement.
It took firefighters 45 minutes and 50,000 gallons of water to get the fire under control, the statement said. Crews were not able to save the horse or the structure, valued at $55,000.
No one was injured. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
