CHICAGO (AP) _ Ryerson Holding Corp. (RYI) on Wednesday reported second-quarter profit of $17.5 million.
The Chicago-based company said it had net income of 46 cents per share.
The results topped Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of four analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 43 cents per share.
The metal products distributor and processor posted revenue of $1.06 billion in the period, also surpassing Street forecasts. Four analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $1.05 billion.
Ryerson shares have risen roughly 10 percent since the beginning of the year. The stock has risen 32 percent in the last 12 months.
