Jostle Wins Club American Oaks

July 22, 2000

NEW YORK (AP) _ Jostle won the 84th Coaching Club American Oaks on Saturday, beating Resort by 3 1/4 lengths in the $350,000 Grade I stakes for 3-year-old fillies at Belmont Park.

Jostle, ridden by Mike Smith, ran 1 1/2 miles in 2:29 4-5 and paid $7.70, $6.20 and $2.10. Resort returned $12.20 and $2.10, and Secret Status paid $2.10 to show.

Jostle earned $210,000 for Fox Hill Farms Inc. for her second victory in six starts this year. The victory avenged a loss to Secret Status in the Mother Goose on July 1. In that race, Jostle led in mid-stretch only to be overtaken in the final furlong.

``We turned the tables this time,″ trainer John Servis said.
