Brazil court issues warrants for 2 Bradesco bank employees
RIO DE JANEIRO (AP) — A Brazilian federal court has issued warrants for two branch managers for the Bradesco bank, alleging they were part of a money laundering scheme.
The warrants issued Tuesday are for a five-day temporary arrest.
A statement from the federal court says investigations revealed that the two managers were “important pieces” of a money laundering scheme involving people linked to a jailed former Rio de Janeiro governor, Sergio Cabral.
Prosecutors say there’s “no doubt” that Bradesco had failed to meet its compliance duties.
The investigation is part of the vast Car Wash probe that has ensnared top politicians and businessmen.
In a statement, Bradesco said it had not yet received any official information and that it was at the disposal of authorities.
