Pete was born on March 29, 1987, in Sioux City, the son of Randy and Mary Ann (Widman) Johnson. He attended Heelan High School, where he was active in track and excelled in football, which became a huge part of his life. Pete spent the final two summers of his high school career serving in the Army National Guard, graduating in 2005 from Heelan.
Pete married Melissa Jordan on Aug. 31, 2013, in Sioux City. Together the couple owned Kid Logic Childcare and Preschool Inc. in South Sioux City. Pete was an extremely hard worker, and a big asset to many employers. Pete’s zest for life was shown in many ways. He had a heart of gold, and the love that he showed his friends, family, and strangers alike was genuine, uplifting, and loyal. His bright smile and funny wit could turn anyone’s day around, and his passion for living and loving was unmatched.
He enjoyed playing golf, was active on volleyball and curling leagues, was passionate about music, and loved to give back as an avid blood donor. As an organ donor his generosity lives on even after his death. Pete was a wonderful husband, father, son, brother, and friend and will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
